Statements, site visit, discussion – this is the motto of the local discussion of the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeological State Museum on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Frankfurt (Oder) Town Hall, Marktplatz 1.

This event is aimed at an interested specialist audience and focuses on the construction and building site history of Frankfurt Town Hall.

The main work of Gothic secular architecture in the city of Frankfurt has been rebuilt and extended several times over the years. The challenge of the most recent extensive renovation was to preserve the authenticity and listed features without disappointing current expectations of functionality. The preservation of the centuries-old building fabric was faced with various requirements for contemporary administrative use.

The result will be discussed with registered visitors and experts on site as part of the local talk. This will be followed by a tour of the building.

The event on the premises of the town hall will take place under special protective conditions, as the construction work on and in the building has not yet been completed.

Due to the limited number of participants, online registration is required by Tuesday, June 4:
Ortsgespräch 1: Rathaus Frankfurt (Oder) | Brandenburgische Architektenkammer (ak-brandenburg.de)

The local talks are a joint project of the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation and Archaeological State Museum, the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects, the Brandenburg Chamber of Engineers and the Association of Consulting Engineers Berlin-Brandenburg.
